Judith has started holding clinic again. She has taught our helpers how to take care of Zia and Enzo while the two of us are not home. Mommy is there to help them out.
Enzo's appetite is increasing. Judith's stock of pumped breast milk always runs out, and to her frustration, she has started formula milk as an adjunct. We visited Dra. Ces Alinea, our pediatrician, and Enzo has increased his weight from 2.8 to 4.1 kgs after only a month. Yun nga lang, madami siyang rashes sa face niya, so may mga ointment kaming pinapapahid si Ces para mas maging smooth ulit ang face niya.
Si Zia naman parehas lang ang weight niya since last month. Kasi nga constipated pa din. This alarms Ces for her so we just have to continue more stool softeners and laxatives. Some wound may also be present so we were advised to keep it clean to ward off possible infection. No immediate work-up for her at the mean time, so sana nga mag improve ang bowel movement niya.
Both babies had their scheduled vaccines given to them, as well. Kaya iyakan galore sila sa clinic, pero sandali lang, nung nahimasmasan na, smile na ulit silang dalawa.

Missing my kids
I'm on an overnight seminar here in Antipolo, and I'm terribly missing my kids and my wife. Although the place is very cozy, it's quite empty because I don't have my family here. I really can't imagine parents living far from their families, because even for a night, I can't even sleep peacefully.
Buti na lang patapos na ang seminar at makikita ko na ang family ko mamaya.

Nanay
It's my Nanay's birthday on Feb 13, she's 56 now. I can't be with her since she's in Canada with Tatay. I miss her and I know that she also misses all her apos here in Pinas.

Madonna and Child(ren)
Judith is one tremendous mother for Zia and Enzo. Since giving birth to them, she's a very hands on mother, most of the time very protective, even from me. I could never imagine how I could raise a child if Judith is not here with me.
Breastfeeding is one aspect she is very serious about. She makes it a point that both Zia and Enzo be breastfed as long as possible, as this is her mantra for her patients as well. However, everytime I see her breastfeed Zia then and Enzo now, it's one gruelling experience. It's quite painful and at the same time very fulfilling according to her.
Hay, buti na lang walang gatas ang mga lalaki...

Bad days for Zia 2
Zia has not really gotten over her constipation. This morning when I was about to go to work, she began to sob and cry in pain again while straining. That was the scene lingering on my mind when I was at the clinic.
After a few hours, Judith texted me saying that Zia has finally was able to void. Hay salamat, I knew then that Zia will have a better day.
Imagine the great news I received "Nakatae na si Zia". Ganda no?

Hotel stay
The Philippine Glaucoma Society had its Strategic Planning Workshop last Friday until Sunday, held at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel. All members were billeted, so after the workshop proper last Saturday, I fetched my family and we stayed at the hotel. Zia went swimming with me and Enzo had a change of scenery...

Bad days for Zia
Since Sunday, Zia is constipated! She's having difficulty tremendously that she's been crying every time it's "poo poo time"
And me and Judith are so helpless!
The worst thing a parent can endure is to see his/her child cry in pain! Zia is not that child who cries a lot, but now she's been crying and obviously in pain. What she does right now is to hold her poo poo so that she won't feel the strain and the pain. Of course it will not work, so after a few minutes she'll cuddle me or Judith and cry in pain!
The whole afternoon of Sunday, she's been crying until night time. She eventually passed her poo poo Monday early morning at about 2AM and 5AM. I did not report for work Monday morning just to be with her. Agony with a capital A!

Ate Zia
Since the first time that Zia saw Enzo, she has this habit of kissing him. It is one of the best scene a parent can watch. Everyday, Zia kisses Enzo, on the head, on the mouth, on the cheeks, on the nose, sometimes she even licks Enzo with her tongue! When she wakes up, she looks for Enzo beside her and kisses him. Nanggigigil pa nga minsan kaya inaalalayan namin. Hopefully this kissing activity would be present until they grow up...

The week that was
It's been a week since my last post so I have to catch up.
Work was OK both in PGH and in Eye Republic. Actually, more than OK kaya wala akong time magsulat dito, pagdating naman sa bahay, laro kami ng mga kids kaya no time for the blog.
Enzo and Zia had her vaccines last Monday c/o Dr. Ces. Zia did not cry, and was enjoying the company of Ces (for a change!) She seems to always not enjoy her visit with Ces but not that night. Enzo of course cried loudly as expected.

Tuesday and Wednesday were just blurs. Just passed very fast.
I spent most of Thursday at Borough Clinic where I did a surgery, went back to Eye republic then went home. Judith as usual is doing excellent Mama's work on both babies...
